Selecting The Right Seal

Undoubtedly the most important part of any seal application is finding the right seal for the job. Our research has shown that the four most common criteria used to select door and window seals and extrusions are performance, aesthetics, ease of installation and value.

Performance specifications vary for each of our products depending on the application for which it is used, and our prices speak for themselves. This section has been designed to demonstrate the remaining two criteria, aesthetics and ease of installation, as they apply to two of our products.

Door Seals Fitting Instructions

DS10-47
DS20-24
DS10-R

Using our installation system guarantees your seals will work correctly.

Please note - measurements will need to take into account paint or veneer finish on doors.

Fix door and latch first. Pull the seal from the extrusion. Measure and cut to size. Make sure the extrusion is separated from its cover (see figure 2). Use 3.5mm packing between door face and aluminium extrusion. (If using DS20 with S6577 seal use 4.5mm packing). Then:

1. Screw DS10 / DS20 aluminium extrusion to door jamb through the pre-punched holes.

2. Snap DS10 / DS20 using the method illustrated in figure 3.

3. Feed S6620 into face of extrusion and trim off ends with scissors.
